Scene Around Town: Grant Halliburton Foundation and Cancer Support Community North Texas
As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s January 31 issue, I’m featuring scenes from the 15th Annual Hope Party where more than 530 supporters recently raised a record-breaking $570,000 through sponsorships, tickets, live and silent auctions and a wine and spirits pull for the Grant Halliburton Foundation. Proceeds will support the Foundation’s work providing mental health education, resources and support to North Texas youth and their families. Also featured are scenes from Cancer Support Community North Texas who recently hosted its 4th Annual Red Tie Gala presented by Woot! at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. More than 250 attendees, dressed in vintage flight attire and 1950’s glam, paid homage to the Golden Age of Flight. Proceeds will provide social and mental support to people living with cancer and their families across North Texas.
