Scene Around Town: Texas Women’s Foundation, Retina Foundation of the Southwest, and Junior League of Dallas
As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s September 13 issue, I was pleased to share highlights from this past May when, Tiffany Dufu, president of the Tory Burch Foundation, Texas Women’s Foundation (TXWF) board members and more than 100 supporters gathered at the Highland Park Village store to welcome the new TXWF President and CEO, Karen Hughes White. Also featured are scenes from the Retina Foundation of the Southwest who successfully raised more than $1 million at the 2024 Visionary Luncheon this past June, breaking the record for the most funds raised by the event. Lastly, I am shining a light on the Junior League of Dallas who recently held a cocktail party for donors at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Dallas. Sponsors, donors and JLD members mingled while viewing Avondale Dealership’s newly opened Rolls-Royce Dallas showroom on Lemmon Avenue.
