Scene Around Town: Rainbow Days and Turtle Creek Association
As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s August 23 issue, I was pleased to share highlights from the 27th annual Pot of Gold Luncheon benefiting Rainbow Days held at the Westin Galleria Dallas Hotel Dallas Ballroom on April 19, bringing together 500 enthusiastic supporters and guests. This year's event was a remarkable success, raising $274,500 for Rainbow Days through sponsorships, auction bidding, donations, and individual tickets. Also featured were scenes from the Turtle Creek Association’s annual Azalea Luncheon held at the Harlan Crow Library where plans where revealed for a $1 million of improvements from the 2024 Capital Bond Program.
