Scene Around Town: Friends of the Katy Trail and TACA

As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s July 26 issue, I was pleased to share highlights from a major donor party, hosted by Friends of the Katy Trail, the nonprofit that manages and enhances the Trail for the benefit of the community. The organization recently held its annual party celebrating and thanking major Trail donors at the newly opened Terminal at Katy Trail. Also featured were scenes from TACA (The Arts Community Alliance) who raised over $650,000, the second-highest amount in event history, at the 46th TACA Silver Cup Award Luncheon. Net proceeds from the event are reinvested back into the local Dallas arts community in the form of TACA grant funding.
