Scene Around Town: Dallas Arboretum, Cancer Support Community North Texas, and White Rock Lake Foundation
As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s January 5 issue, I was pleased to spotlight photos featuring highlights from the Dallas Arboretum’s Great Contributors Award where Admiral William H. McRaven, former University of Texas System chancellor, retired U.S. Navy four-star admiral, and New York Times best-selling author received the 2023 Great Contributors Award at a dinner with proceeds benefiting the Dallas Arboretum. Also featured were scenes from the 3rd Annual Red Tie Gala benefiting Cancer Support Community North Texas. Funds raised will support people living with cancer and their families across North Texas, Lastly, enjoy images from the White Rock Lake Foundation who raised an additional $100,000 for the ongoing restoration of Winfrey Point at the second annual Jewel of Dallas Gala.
