Scene Around Town: Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair and Dallas Symphony Orchestra League

As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s August 18 issue, I was pleased to spotlight photos featuring highlights from the 27th Annual Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair held August 4 in Fair Park.  For the first time, Junior League of Dallas (JLD) powered the event and handled recruiting, training, and supporting the more than 500 event volunteers. Also featured were scenes from this past June, when the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League Debutantes and Honor Guard proudly partnered with the Prestonwood Polo Club for an evening of polo matches, dinner and drinks and halftime activities. Founded in 1946, the DSOL's mission is to support the Dallas Symphony Orchestra through service, education and fundraising activities.
