Scene Around Town: Dallas Contemporary and Dallas Children's Advocacy Center
As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s October 14 issue, I was pleased to spotlight photos featuring highlights from the Dallas Contemporary Gala where they honored fall exhibition artists Gabrielle Goliath and Shepard Fairey and enjoyed a surprise appearance from Public Enemy's Chuck D. Also featured were scenes from Art for Advocacy who celebrated the transformative healing power of art and raised funds and awareness for Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center. Hosted by Stephanie and John Roberts, the charitable evening included a silent art auction featuring 84 works, as well as a live art auction with 5 pieces.
