Scene Around Town: A Writer’s Garden Luncheon and Compass' Fireside Chat

As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s February 28 issue, I’m featuring scenes from the 18th Annual A Writer’s Garden Star Style Glamour for the Home & Garden presented by the Weber Foundation and benefiting the Women’s Council of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden where Martyn Lawrence Bullard and Stefani Bittner were the featured authors. Also highlighted were scenes from Dallas-based co-ed independent school, The Compass School of Texas, who recently hosted a Fireside Chat on “Mental Health and Anxiety: The Importance of Physical Well-Being and Connection to Nature”. The event was part of the school’s speaker series designed to promote intellectual entrepreneurship and present thought-provoking topics to parent communities in collaboration with industry leaders and experts.
