Scene Around Town: United Way and Perot Museum
As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s January 17 issue, I’m featuring scenes from the Perot Museum of Nature and Science who recently hosted a private dinner in support of the reimagined Moody Family Children’s Museum, scheduled to open in May 2025. The expansion will bolster the Museum's position as the region's leading children’s museum, extending programming and providing a rich experience from toddlers to early elementary students. Also featured were highlights from United Way of Metropolitan Dallas who recently launched its centennial year with a kickoff event at the AT&T Discovery District, celebrating 100 years of impact on millions across North Texas. The kickoff precedes the grand United Way Centennial on November 15, 2025, at the Cotton Bowl, featuring a VIP dinner and concert. Throughout the year, United Way will host volunteer projects to enhance education, income, and health.
