Scene Around Town: Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and VolunteerNow
As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s June 21 issue, I was pleased to share highlights from the TEX Gala 2024 presented by Choctaw Casinos & Resorts where nearly 1,500 guests recently gathered on the outfield turf at Globe Life Field in support of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. This year’s event raised a record-high $2.5 million in gross revenue which will directly impact those who benefit from the Rangers Foundation’s year-round programming. Also featured were scenes from VolunteerNow recently held its 17th annual Hearts of Texas Luncheon with emcee Scott Murray welcoming 300 guests. Since 1971, VolunteerNow has mobilized more than 800,000 unique volunteers to opportunities to serve.
