Scene Around Town: Hope Supply and Klyde Warren Park
As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s November 22 issue, I was pleased to share highlights from Hope Supply Co’s recentSupply Hope! event where the nonprofit welcomed supporters to the Harlan Crow Library for their eighth annual fundraiser. Attendees enjoyed a night of historic treasures on display and raised over $200,000 for the nonprofit to help meet the basic needs of homeless and at-risk children. Also featured were scenes from Klyde Warren Park’s Party In The Park held in celebration of its 12-year anniversary. Guests enjoyed a live music and seated dinner under the stars on the park grounds. This year's event raised more than $1 million that will be used to offer free and diverse programs to more than 1.3 million annual Park visitors.
