Scene Around Town: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Christopher Barkley Foundation
As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s October 18 issue, I was pleased to share highlights from the 2025 St. Valentine’s Day Luncheon and Fashion Show Kick Off party. Supporters gathered at Veronica Beard in Highland Park Village. where it was announced that Jude Cobler will receive the Spirit of Tom Landry Award and First Lady Mrs. Laura Bush will receive the ICON Award at the 41st annual fundraiser benefiting Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to be held on February 12, 2025. Also featured were scenes from the Christopher Barkley Foundation who recently hosted their Annual Monte Carlo Casino Night at On The Levee. where over 200 guests gathered to raise awareness and support for those impacted by the challenges of mental health and well-being in the North Texas region.
