Scene Around Town: Texas Women’s Foundation and You Can Live Again Expo
As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s July 28 issue, I was pleased to spotlight photos featuring highlights from Texas Women’s Foundation who recently held its Leadership Forum & Awards Celebration which raised more than $572,000. The Maura Women Helping Women Award was presented to seven courageous individuals who have catalyzed change for women and girls. Also featured were scenes from the You Can Live Again Expo and Awards. Honorees. The evening honored Real Housewives of Dallas star LeeAnne Locken, clothing designer Annia Jenkins, fashion industry icon Willie Johnson, III, legendary sportscaster Dale Hansen, author and filmmaker Cheryl Polote-Williamson and philanthropist Sue Loncar.
