Scene Around Town: Friends of the Katy Trail and an Ode to Bill Wisener

As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s May 26 issue, I was pleased to spotlight photos featuring highlights from Matthews Southwest and South Side on Lamar who recently held a celebration to commemorate a permanent installation honoring the memory of local music icon Bill Wisener of Bill’s Records, which was created by Dallas-based artist Jennifer Morgan. Also featured were scenes from Friends of the Katy Trail who recently hosted their Major Donor Party, an annual donor appreciation event, at the home of Kathy and Harlan Crow.
