Scene Around Town: Texas Women’s Foundation and Interfaith Family Services

As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s July 15 issue, I was pleased to spotlight photos featuring highlights from the 7th Annual Interfaith Auxiliary Luncheon benefiting Interfaith Family Services, whose mission is to empower families in crisis to break the cycle of poverty. The sold-out event was held on April 8th at Brook Hollow Golf Club and raised more than $294,000—$48,000 of it raised the day-of from generous attendees moved by the powerful stories. Also featured were scenes from Texas Women’s Foundation’s Leadership Forum & Awards Celebration, presented by AT&T, on April 26 at the Dallas Omni Hotel and raised more than $600,000 to help lift up women and girls.
