Scene Around Town, Katy Trail Weekly (June 25, 2021)

As the Katy Trail Weekly’s Society Editor I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s June 26-July 1 issue, I was pleased to spotlight the Lewis Family Foundation who recently hosted their inaugural Wine Maker’s Dinner and successfully raised over $17,000 to support their vision to create a more humanitarian community. The event proceeds were donated to the First Tee Greater Dallas. Also featured was the Caroline Rose Hunt Society Dinner for the major donors of the Dallas Arboretum. Held at A Tasteful Place at the Dallas Arboretum, the evening was sponsored by the Dallas Southwest Osteopathic Physicians and featured guest Chef, Kent Rathbun. Tatiana Mayfield “Lady May” and her band provided live entertainment and guests were serenaded with traditional jazz songs ending with “At Last” by Etta James.
