Scene Around Town, Katy Trail Weekly (March 12, 2021)
As the Katy Trail Weekly’s Society Editor I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In the March 12-18 issue, I was pleased to spotlight on Quincy Roberts, President of Roberts Trucking Company and member of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s Executive Board, who held a concert to celebrate the removal of “shingle mountain” from the South Dallas neighborhood of Floral Farms. The Family Place, who announced new details for its annual ReuNight fundraiser. The outdoor affair will take place on Thursday, May 13th at the refined Nasher Sculpture Center Garden. A limited one hundred guests will enjoy an unforgettable socially distanced evening amid works of art by modern masters and proceeds will help them continue to aid victims of domestic violence. Lastly, The Nexus 50 for 50 Anniversary Campaign comes at a time when recovery efforts and treatment services are especially critical. The campaign focuses on raising funds for three different essential pillars of Nexus Recovery Center’s services: community, dignity and security. The campaign aims to raise at least 50 gifts of $50K each. Find out how to help at nexus50for50.org
