FOOD & BEV
🍺 A few weeks ago, Teresa Gubbins from CultureMap reported that Meddlesome Moth, the craft beer gastropub in Dallas' Design District, would reportedly “close in the spring” sharing that “employees were told that that the longtime beer haunt would not be renewing its lease due to an increase in rent.” The Moth was Dallas' original gastropub, a pioneer not only in the craft beer world but also a pioneer in the Design District when it opened there in 2010. Sarah Blaskovich with the DMN confirmed the closing this week. After a storied 15 years, another (good) one bites the dust… A rep for Meddlesome Moth told me that we have until May 22 for one last visit. The real question is now, what will happen to The Moth’s famous stained glass windows? The collection consists of three works depicting rockstars Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis in colored glass. They could be seen as separate treasures, but the gastropub’s co-owner Shannon Wynne insists they stay together. Click HERE to learn more.
🍔 “Foodie festivals are becoming the hipster must-have,” according to CultureMap, “and now Dallas-Fort Worth gets another, coming this spring at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa. They'll be bringing in some celebrity chefs and mixologists from across the country including Aarón Sánchez, Antonia Lofaso, Stephanie Izard, John Tesar, Tony Abou-Ganim, Shota Nakajima, Dean Fearing, Kwame Onwuachi, Elizabeth Blau, Jillian Vose, Ann Kim, and Kim Canteenwalla.”
