Kristin Cavallari is in town this weekend to celebrate the opening of Uncommon James (her 3d retail location) in Deep Ellum. Cavallari is a television personality, designer, entrepreneur, and author of the New York Times bestsellers Balancing in Heels, True Roots and True Comfort. She starred in MTV's hit series Laguna Beach and The Hills, as well as her very own show, Very Cavallari on E!. Cavallari is also the Founder & CEO of lifestyle and jewelry brand, Uncommon James, with stores in Nashville, Chicago and (now) Dallas. The store offers "easy, effortless pieces for the modern woman that can be layered and mix & matched". When I asked her 'Why Dallas?" she told me, "Dallas has always been a big market for us and I do feel like the Dallas girl really embodies who we are as a company. She's confident. She's sassy. She's fun. She's beautiful. She's all of those things, so for me coming to Dallas was a no-brainer." Aw, go on Kristin. We blush.

Texas has a very particular reputation so I asked Kristin if we could expect to see a Texas-inspired collection in the near future (stars and boots perhaps)? "Absolutely," she said. "I already create a candle specific to each city so I will be creating a Dallas candle. Our "Fighter" necklace I designed several years ago with Texas and Tennessee in mind because (to me) it does represent a really strong, independent woman." Her representatives told me that “The jewelry line and lifestyle brand has gained recognition from industry authorities such as JCK and WWD. Her spring jewelry line for Uncommon James, sold out the first week of releasing. With the success of her jewelry line and cookbook, Kristin launched Uncommon James home goods. That same day, Kristin opened her first Uncommon James flagship store in Nashville. Expanding her love for kids clothing, she launched Little James at the end of 2018.
