Scene Around Town: Yellow Rose Gala and Eric Nadel Benefit

As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s June 16 issue, I was pleased to spotlight photos featuring highlights from the Yellow Rose Gala Foundation who recently held a Masquerade Ball presented by Simmons Bank. Themed “Everything’s Bigger in Texas!” the ball raised more than $500K for Multiple Sclerosis research. The funds benefit the International Progressive MS Alliance and UT Southwestern Peter O’Donnell Brain Institute. Also featured were scenes from the 11th anniversary Eric Nadel Birthday Benefit, presented by Bell Nunnally, which raised more than $110,000 for Grant Halliburton Foundation. Funds raised will help families and young people recognize the signs of mental illness through a variety of avenues including education, conferences, collaboration and encouragement.
