Scene Around Town: Broadway Dallas Debuts Spotlight Dinner Series and The Collab Festival Spotlights Female-Owned DFW Brands

As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s April 8 issue, I was pleased to spotlight photos featuring highlights from The Collab Link who returned to Dallas with its first Collab Festival in 2022 on the grounds of Four Corners Brewing Company. In celebration of Women’s History Month, the focus was on female-owned brands and Action With Compassion underwrote the event so that all of the vendors could participate at no charge. Approximately forty vendors showed up to sell women's clothing, home décor, food products, and personal accessories. Action For Compassion also made a donation to the DeDe McGuire Foundation on behalf of The Collab Festival to support their mission to educate minds, increase economic power and build stronger families within our communities. The Collab Festival will be back on June 12 and this time attendees will be asked to bring new school supplies to donate in support of the teachers of Joseph J. Rhoads Elementary in South Dallas. For more information or to apply to participate, visit TheCollabLink.com

Also featured are scenes from a new Spotlight Dinner Series sponsored by PNC Bank. The evening kicked off with the exciting announcement of a company name change to “Broadway Dallas” followed by their 22/23 Germania Broadway Series Season lineup. The premise of the new dining series is for attendees to experience exclusive dinners in beautiful Dallas homes or venues, each showcasing a specific Broadway Dallas production. On the menu for each event will be fine wines, an exquisite multi-course plated dinner, and exciting show-themed entertainment and décor. These intimate events, filled with song, fun facts, and always a surprise or two, benefit artistic and educational excellence at Broadway Dallas, including programs in classrooms and throughout the community that serve more than 40,000 students and families each year. Interested patrons can select the dinners that entice them the most - or sign up the entire series. Tickets for Broadway Dallas’ Fall 2022 Spotlight Dinner Series will go on sale in late Spring 2022 and will be themed around the shows Ain’t Too Proud, My Fair Lady and SIX. Proceeds will benefit artistic and educational excellence at Broadway Dallas including programs in classrooms and throughout the community that serve more than 40,000 students and families each year.
