Scene Around Town: Food Gets Fashionable and Family Compass Announces Luncheon Speaker

As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s March 25 issue, I was pleased to spotlight photos featuring highlights from a special announcement party hosted by diptyque in NorthPark Center where Family Compass announces Elizabeth Smart as the featured speaker for its 2022 North Star Luncheon presented by North Dallas Bank & Trust, an annual fundraiser to raise awareness on how to stop child abuse before it occurs, to be held on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Dallas Country Club. Sponsorships and tickets are available now at https://family-compass.org/events/

Food and fashion came together to raise funds for a vital cause at the 5th annual Food in Fashion show, presented by the Greater Dallas Chapter of the Texas Restaurant Association on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, in Dallas. Staged at the Fashion Industry Gallery, the event brought together North Texas’ restaurant, hospitality, and fashion industries for an inspiring evening filled with art and whimsy, and raised more than$60,000 to support the Texas Restaurant Foundation’s (TRF) ongoing education initiatives.

I encourage you to pick up the latest issue of the Katy Trail Weekly complete with community news, articles by local experts, event and restaurant info, puzzles, and more for FREE each week! Where?
