Scene Around Town: Clayton Dabney for Kids with Cancer and The Village Giving Circle
As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s January 28 issue, I was pleased to spotlight photos featuring highlights from Clayton Dabney for Kids with Cancer who hosted a Celebration of Giving happy hour at the beautiful home of Katrina and Steven Bradford on Thursday, October 21, 2021. The Celebration of Giving recognized Clayton Dabney’s donors, new and old, and honored them for their support over the past 25 years to make it possible to anonymously support 5,000 families around the country. Providing support to 5,000 families was a major milestone for the organization. Also featured were scenes from The Village Giving Circle at Texas Women’s Foundation who celebrated with its members and supporters this past November and announced that it had given a record $260,000 in funds to 16 nonprofit organizations whose missions support the African American community in North Texas.
